Windows in your RV

We're in the process of having a trailer configured and windows are my next decision to make. I'm posting these questions to gauge your thoughts and opinions on the topic. In the 2 home remodels we've done I've regretted NOT using fewer, smaller windows. Comfort, energy costs, and poor light control were the issues.

We camp in the offseason so cold and rain/snow would be more likely than baking in the heat of summer. Of course we've never had a trailer so likely will be using it differently than our pop up truck camper w few amenities and of course aging always changes things too.


If you had a choice would you have a window in addition to an exhaust fan in the bathroom?


If you had a choice would you maximize or minimize the number of widows?


Do you like having a window behind your seating area - where you spend your time in the evenings after dark?


Is climate comfort(staying warm or cool and dry) more important to you than maximizing window area or do you accept the negatives that come w lots of windows?

I honestly think only you can make those decisions, we have many windows with shades to control lighting and heat transfer

We, frequently, wish there was a window to look out from the kitchen sink. Also, the big windows I prefer the ones that tilt open from the bottom of the glass so that opening in the rain, for fresh air, is nice.

I'm of the opinion that I want as many windows as possible to get as much light in as possible. I always like the kind that open wide to get good breezes through the trailer.

However, we only camp in summer in full service sites so I don't mind the AC running all day.
