Our new travel trailer (2022 Forest River Wildwood FSX 178BHSK) came with a rooftop AC we cannot live with…

- It’s horribly loud… we cannot even stand to have it on… we can’t have a conversation when it runs
- the fan keeps running even when the compressor cycles off… the noise is the same with compressor on or off
- the only way to turn the unit on and off is the knob on the bottom of the unit

I should have determined all this before purchase… but oh well. Now I’ll pay the piper for R&R

Since this is non-warranty work (we pay)… I‘m getting quotes from two different RV dealers. Dealer will have to run interior conduit on the walls and install a thermostat.

anyone have a recommendation for a reasonable quiet model that is thermostatically controlled?

Ordered a Coleman Quiet Series Mach 3 with wall thermostatic control

I replaced a fantastic fan with a RecPro roof top unit with heat pump. It's very quiet, has its own thermostat and remote control. Drops right into the standard 14x14 opening that the fans use. Only extra thing I needed that was not in the box was a thick roof kit to connect it up due to the amount of insulation in my Newmar roof. RecPro was able to ship that to me overnight once I found out it was needed. Your mileage will vary on that part.
