Our original RV king size mattress lasted 2 years before it started causing us back pain. I would like to replace it with a Montana Hybrid, Plush, 70"X80" RV king from Wilderness RV Mattress. Anyone have experience with this mattress or Wilderness RV Mattress?

Following as Wilderness seems like the only company that will custom size and place the fold 'slit' exactly where I would need it to be. (I have added 6" to frame and a 6" filler; my mattress folds up, from the foot, 90*)
The only thing stopping me, so far, is the enormous $ and "feeling" the softness.

Well, I wrote to them:

--Is it possible, as I will be in FL end of April, to stop by your place to "feel" the softness of the 3 different models? Would all 3 be available to lie down on?
Tentatively, it would be afternoon of April 30th.
--If so, I would require special size with a fold at a specific place. I will have my RV with me if you could re-measure and advise of other options.
I would order & pay at that time.
--It would be terrific if one of your30 +/- percent sales were on at that time!! (Hoping🤞)

I just got their answer:

We are an online only retailer. We do operate under a direct from factory model. This allows us to offer the best possible prices without any need to markup for a middleman or pay for a retail location. Unfortunately, the side effect of this is no place to try it out. We'd be happy to help you get the correct measurements.

The other side effect of this is I will not be buying a Wilderness mattress!

That is their business model. It is risk free to the consumer as you have not just ten minutes at a store to "try it out" but 100 days of risk free usage.
I would be pretty sure that a, they do not have a showroom and b their insurance does not cover the random person who insists on trying it out for ten minutes.

I refuse to spend $6-700 on a mattress that I cannot even feel.
As for sending it back, that would be quite cumbersome no matter who paid for shipping. Just not worth the trouble!

If you read the website, you do not have to send it back. They will handle the disposal
You should just go to a company that is not an internet store with brick and mortar pricing.

I'm skeptical that any brick and mortar mattress store is going to let you custom order a mattress, pay their supplier to make it and then give you a no questions asked satisfaction guarantee.
Of course, I can't imagine how an online store could do that but like Amazon, Sam's Clubs, Costco and Big Box Hardware, they must just offset the cost by spreading it across retail prices.
Mattress stores however are generally ranked just above car title loan operations.

Hummmm! I'll ponder that scenario.

After reading a post on another forum (sorry!), I found out that, low & behold, a 10 or 12” all foam mattress will fold 90* without too much effort!
Looked @ one locally and through Seely on line. $499 & $599 respectively. Uggg!

Then I went to my (and especially the wife's) go to source! Amazon.
Anywhere from around $150 to $250 and everything in between! OH the decisions!
Do I trust my gut, "Amazon Choice", star ratings, or price. All are returnable.
I'll have to decide within a week or so, as I've got a 12 day trip coming up in April.

75% or more of Amazon product ratings are fake. Providing fake product ratings is an industry. I disregard the 5 star reviews and look for the 1 or 2 star. No one gets paid for those. You just cull the guy who gave it 1 star because the box was the wrong color or the delivery guy had a tatoo.
" Amazon Choice" doesn't mean it's better, it means the seller paid extra to have their product listed as "Amazon Choice".

I know all of that!
Also, the price most always does not reflect the quality either!
It even makes a decision even harder!

The internet has made me/most all of us skeptics! A royal shame. o_O
