Update: the platform has to stay; the slide mechanism is under it.

We want to remove the sleeper sofa and do something else. My question is, when I open the sofa, there is a carpeted platform that the bed is supported by, or at least that's my guess. Is that platform attached to the floor somehow, or is it attached to the bed frame to keep it in place?

Thanks!

They are typically just screwed down, just like the jack knife which I disassembled and removed to put a desk in for a while, then put it back. @NWIP and @GlampDaddy and many more got furniture replacements, can't remember the name, but if I was doing it I'd go to them. I'm sure they'll chime in with where they got their work done.

If you're going to remove it yourself you'll want to try and figure out how to disassemble it in place and then remove part by part out of the coach but the company above that was used will handle that for you.

Brad & Hall in Elkhart. Great furniture, great service.
