The "Mary and Joseph-no room at the inn" method of travel? But seriously, I'm not trying to be snarky, but I'm having trouble understanding that kind of life style. Do just wake up one morning and say "Hey, let's go to Colorado today." And then you go. I mean I understand chasing good weather, or having some kind of circuit you follow, but the random times just kind of freaks me out. And I'm not really a control freak or anything, but I like to be prepared. A reservation, a hard copy printout of all confirmations, and a nearby parking lot picked out just in case. My wife used to get mad when I'd tell her to put away the yelp reviews and just pick a restaurant at random, but that's very different from not knowing if I've got a place to sleep at night.
With my wife's work schedule I can't plan 6-12 months in advance. I can go anytime, so occasionally if I have a slow patch I call my wife and say "You want to go to Florida?" She calls her boss to see if she can get off and if she can WE'RE GONE!! We've never not been able to find a campsite before we get there. I'd much rather do this than say "Well, we can't go because we didn't call ahead 6 months ago!" :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: You say you're not a control freak but you sound a bit like one to me. Loosen up and live a little!! Life is too short to worry about reservations. We can always stay in a Walmart parking lot the first day if we have to so we can get into the campground we want. Or we stay at our #2 or #3 choice. Either way we're in Florida and having fun!:cool::cool:

We tend to pick a direction and head that way. Roll with the punches that get thrown at us and laugh. RVing with an agenda is not fun for us. That's what semi-retirement is all about. I'm unfortunately still working as a full time Fire/Medic but I'm also retired US Navy. My S.O. can work from anywhere she has internet. We have actually traveled less then 50 miles one time just to check out a body of water and wound up boondocking for the night. The next day we packed up and moved on. People sometimes forget it not the destination but the journey that counts.
