It's a 12V system so you could supply 12V power to the motor I suppose. Not sure how the switching works so you get them to go in the right direction. Have you tried a shore power connection?
Its been connected to the 110 house current. Boith house batteries are dead and I have no access to 30 or 50 Amp power. We just got this and it is supposed to go in for some work tomorrow, but I cant retract the steps.
Just thinking on the run here...have you tried running the generator for a few hours and see if that can get some charge to the batteries? Make sure the charger is ON on your inverter control panel.
@donsunshine we are all jumping to conclusions based on the coach we own not knowing what you own. Some of the luxury line coaches have stairs that don’t retract until the air brake is released.
So let’s stop assuming. Tell us the year and model coach please.
Forget the coach brand. Look instead for the manufacturer of the steps. Then the installation manual.
The key switch activates the stairs in most cases unless the stair lockout switch in the entryway has locked it out. That would indicate to me (unconfirmed), the chassis battery is being used.
Most coach manufacturers use the installation manual to wire their coaches features.
