Agree. I'd make them pex and have the ability to blow them out without concern.I never understood the purpose of the duck bills on the roof drains?
Concur. And to top it off, they are held in place by screws that bisect the drain lines!I never understood the purpose of the duck bills on the roof drains?
Woah! Love this idea and thanks for posting! Do they stay in place w/o a mechanical attachment? Do you take the current screen off? Thanks in advance Jim.I removed the original roof drain covers and put these in the drain cavity:
You have to pop them out and rinse them out every so often but I haven’t had a clog in several years. You do have to replace them every year or so as the sun slowly destroys them.
Yes they stay in place, just shove them into the depression and yes the current screen stays off.Woah! Love this idea and thanks for posting! Do they stay in place w/o a mechanical attachment? Do you take the current screen off? Thanks in advance Jim.
I use a rag wrapped around a pistol grip garden hose sprayer to force water down the drain pipe. Easier for me do with a step ladder.I was going to check my roof vents, low and behold, no ladder on my DS ? Guess in our excitement we never noticed
