The older generation Baby Boomers, who really fueled the growth of the RV industry, are a smaller market today and older, who are getting out of the lifestyle due to health, age, and affordability on retirement incomes.

a consolidation of dealerships into mega dealers like Camp World, Blue Compass, and General RV, among the largest, controlling the sales narrative.
Yeah, there's a reason why those 140K rv vans usually have an aged boomer or couple in them. They have the money/credit but not the desire to drive a bus or even a short bus.
"Hey fran, where's your hubby frank at?"
"Oh, he died between amarillo and dallas"

Health and fragility reasons too. I'm a boomer but still very physically active, every day doing things and I think, OK, should I sell the house and get a nice(er) RV and just hit the road full time? Then I think, OK, in 7 yrs I'll be xx yrs old....and not have a home but on wheels. Do I want to be a transient and have to deal with a health issue? It's one thing at 30, or even 50, but once a person passes the big 6-0, then that's a consideration for many.

So....there should be some good used RVs coming back on the market in ever increasing numbers...... :-D

I know I'm a small fish in this pond but my unit sat on the dealers lot from July of '25 until Feb of this year before they entertained my lowball offers. They tried to push me towards a '26 model at full price but I walked until they called and wanted to deal on the last years model
New units are not selling like they use too.

the pond is getting smaller so not as many suckers to reel in.

Iooked at a lance, 10' something. IT....was....huge. It only had one slide out but ginormous. They were only asking 10-12 grand for it and I thought about offering them 5...but it was just too big. The main attraction of truck campers is ease and getting into places....this made it like you have a class C on your truck.
I thought it's too big...and apparently so did the older couple as they traded it in for a bumperpull. They can super size everything in a truck camper, but the bottom footprint is only as big as the bed.

I'm not surprised that truck campers are now slow movers as most people are buying 4 door shortbeds....and the actual campers are being supersized in every way.

NIRVC has been pre selling Newmar DPs as fast as they could order them. Does not seem like that level is having no issues.
That level of income is pretty difficult to impact in the big scheme of things. Like a boat owner said once, "if you have to ask (fuel mileage) you can't afford it (the boat).

Just make sure it has a vin attached to it......

If I spent 700grand on a new RV and the mfgr kept blowing me off......

Still posting stupidity I see. Try researching before posting clickbait. Thats the problem with folks who flood a forum with negativity, they do not deal with facts.

Good to see you are still trying to enforce the non written tribal rules of social popularity here.
And people wonder why boards turn into ghost towns....yeah, people like you.

This is more common than not with boards/forums. A small group of people who have been there the longest tend to shape the general vibe and direction of the board.

Sometimes that's good, sometimes no. But it is what it is.
It is pretty slow here and though I've been trying to generate conversation among the members here, sometimes original tribe/clique rules discourage that in favor of shunning.

So you and the handful of others may get your wish after all.....'your board' back.

I can't count how many forums I've left because of this very reason...and how many I've seen dissolve because of it. There comes a time that the negative, sarcastic and rude comments simply make a forum unbearable. Hopefully someone who is TRULY in charge (not just "think" they're in charge) will settle things down and salvage this forum.

Otherwise - another one will bite the dust.

Disagreement and discussion are fine, but bullying because you've been here longer than me or someone else should not be acceptable by the administrator.

You are right and I am about to leave this forum as this guy just posts negativity and attacks anyone who disagrees with him. A few have already blocked him but I do not block, I just eventually leave.
PS He does not even own an rv
