Looking for southern Texas recommendations as I travel from AZ to Gaffney, SC soon. I've been to both San Antone and Austin 1-200 years ago, for RVing, what do you recommend for a few day stay?

If you like baseball, just north of Austin is the suburb of Round Rock. They have the Rangers AAA team round rock express that is owned by Nolan Ryan that play there. My son played 10 years of Pro Ball a few of those with the Rangers. So I saw him play and rehab there and always like the place. There is a small RV Park right across the street from the stadium. Dell computer campus is right down I-35. its a quaint place with a lot to do.

There are several nice parks in the Texas Hill Country. We like Buckhorn RV Resort near Kerrville (Mooney factory, James Avery HQ), Fredericksburg RV in Fredericksburg (Texas Wine Trail and Museum of the Pacific War), and Sky Ranch in Bandera (Cowboy Capitol). If you are in Bandera on Wednesday night, the 11th Street Bar and Grill (it’s on 11th street) sets out large charcoal grills. You bring your own streaks and they provide baked potato, salads, etc for a nominal charge. Live band and lots of Country/Western dancing.

Our son lives near Round Rock and that’s a good idea too.
