I have a neighbor with a 21 LADP asking for my help with his sanicon. He says the pump started slowing down at the end of pump out session a few days ago on a trip. A few days later he went to dump on another dump out and the motor started and then stopped. He switched to gravity to carry through. It sounds like the motor has gone bad. How hard is it to put in a new motor and is it accessible easily in the plumbing bay? I would think this is fairly straightforward. Asking the Newmar experts here on RVF.

If it's the same as my 19 LA, a big gray box with piping going into it, the motor is not replaceable, that whole unit has to be replaced.

I'll toss it out for consideration.

My Sanicon works fine, but I opted to disconnect and use a gravity dump instead. I still have the parts for resale purpose, but I find the Sanicon to be to slow.

I'd pull the black valve and turn on the Sanicon. Stand around for it to finish pumping. Turn the Sanicon off. Close the black valve, open the grey and turn the Sanicon back on. Stand around and wait for it to finish. When done, turn it off and close the valve. So there went 5-6 minutes of my life.

With the gravity flow, I just pull the black and woosh! Close the black, open the grey and woosh! Close the grey and done!

About the only thing I liked about the Sanicon was that I could simi-flush my empty black tank by opening the gray with the Sanicon closed. That and the one time I needed to push some (stuff) up the line because someone didn't put the dump station where it should have been. :)

Mine is a 2016, so maybe it's just outdated and the newer ones are faster. But for me, it just didn't make the cut.
