Just bought a Coachmen Nova and the screen door for the side exit is already not functioning. Anybody else having that issue? Solutions?

Welcome. I’m not familiar with that model. What’s it not doing? Some pic may help.

My 2010 Phoenix Cruiser had the side roll-up type and it was still working nicely by 2015 when I bought a bigger coach.

I have same.
Shake it up and down while letting the roller do it’s thing.
I was in the window/screen business, this is a poor design.
I am considering removing it and replacing with a magnetic type.
I never use the rear door one, RB model.

We have a 2023 Nova 20C. Fewer than 1400 miles and only 3 camping trips. The strings in the side sliding screen door starting fraying several days ago, it lost tension, and it no longer stays in it’s track. Plan to see if it can be replaced under warranty. Everything else is working well (except the antenna), so this is a big disappointment. Has anyone else had this experience? Does anyone have recommendations for a sliding screen door replacement?

Welcome to the group. You mentioned your unit is a 2023. Your screen should be covered under the warranty.

Its now June 2024 — we had the same issue with our 2023 Coachman Nova. The screen basically fell apart on our first camping trip. We purchased the Dealer showroom model that had 750 miles on it when purchased. I image the screen door got a lot of movement during the RV shows. But still a big disappointment. We are waiting on Coachmen to send a replacement to our dealer in Maryland — that could take a long time. We are looking into buying a Velcro attached magnetic style screen door. There is a company that you can email and request a special size to fit the opening — ours measures about 34 inches wide by 67 inches tall — we may need to add a strip to one side to attached the screen or simply use heavy duty Velcro to attached. The company is MAGZO — you can find them on Amazon and they sell standard door sizes for the home. I think they will do a custom size to fit the opening — cost more but would be worth it.

Here are some pics of our issue with the screen door

Coachman did not replace this?

Coachman is providing a replacement, currently out of stock and we are waiting now. We decided to buy a different screen from the MAGZO shop. They include custom screens for RVs in their product offerings. Our screen will be 32.5 inches x 67.25 inches. Cost $50. We will use Velcro to attach to the existing screen door frame and keep the replacement screen closed. We had to buy the Velcro off-line because the MAGZO screen comes with sticky tape that’s more permanent. We want have the ability to remove the MAGZO screen in case we sell the RV and the future. The non OEM screen from MAGZO has a magnetic strip opening in the middle. https://magzo.shop/?syclid=984c5734-e433-4744-b9fe-78392ea6b60d
I will post some pictures when we get the installation done.

Greetings All, Finally got our new screen from MAGZO so I installed it today. Works great. Still waiting on the OEM screen from Forest River. It’s funny that a company in CHINA can make a better screen and ship it to the USA for less money and less time. I know that the dealer is trying their best to get my OEM replacement as quickly as possible but CHINA is kicking our ASXXX for sure. No wonder they are the rising power and the USA is falling behind. Anyway enough about politics. See attached video of the finished installation.
