I was just about to put money down on a 2019 New Aire. On the bottom of my long list for the seller was a question on seatbelts. He said he only saw them on the side facing couch and none on the forward facing dinette. Huh? Winnebago has them in all the seating positions on their Class A (forward and backward facing), the Tiffin Allegro Breeze has them on the forward facing dinette seats. Why would the New Aire, a far superior coach in every way, only have side facing ones? Side facing belts are essentially useless and probably more dangerous in a collision.

I called the dealer to ask about 2023 models, hoping they would have them. They never got back to me. Newmar doesn't say a word about it in any of their brochures or online. Does anyone know why they have this peculiarity? It's the ONLY thing preventing me from buying a New Aire. And before you recommend installing lap belts after-market, the dealers refuse to do it due to liability. And really, do you want a Chinese seat belt tied to some bolt on the floor that wasn't engineered for the job, holding your grandkids in place?

You’re right. Many Newmar coaches dont even have any permenant forward facing seats other than the two front seats. Which explains the seatbelts in the couch. Thats the case with mine. Like many coaches it has a table and free standing chairs. But I don’t think the target market of the luxury coach line generally includes families with children. The New Aire is a good example. I guess they technically sleep four but really are intended to accommodate two. My 30’ Bay Star with a dinette was better suited to traveling with grandkids than my current coach.

Have a 2019 London Aire and had a 2019 Dutch Star and both only has 2 seat belts and they were on the passinger side couch.
