New owners. No manuals. Horrible walk through at dealer.
When hooking up to shore power, what needs to be turned on, off inside RV ?
Do we just plug in, we have all cords, surge protectors, etc…
Just need to know if anything inside has to be turned on or off?
Thank you.

Most rigs I've had the manual would say to turn off the main breaker, then plug in shore power, then turn breaker back on.
I don't always remember to do that.
Main thing is to have a good surge protector/ems and check what you're plugging into before you plug in.

When plugging into shore power make sure the pedestal breaker is off, plug in your power cord and turn the breaker on. It shouldn’t matter what you have on in the rv. It’s not a whole lot different than if the power goes off at your home. You usually don’t worry about what is on/off waiting for the power to come back on.
Of course you do have to consider your rv load if you are plugging into less than a 50 amp service.

I make sure that the A/C units are off when I switch power as those are the biggest current draws and have tripped a breaker in the past.
Lights are 12vdc, the refrigerator doesn't pull a lot of current.
