Brand New to this RV and RV'ing in general. Went to a local KOA for a "test" trip and the passenger side slide out stopped about 6" of going all the way out. In researching the issue it appears there are limit switches which make the slide out stop at the appropriate position.
I asked earlier on this forum if lubrication was required. Received differing responses, but mostly no. Like to get a consensus of opinion.
Also, it appears the "jury is out" regarding when to activate the slide outs. (ie. before leveling or after leveling).
Like to receive some trouble shooting tips.
Thanks,

You may need to program the slide controller

Neal,

Thanks for the recommendation and link to the PDF. Sounds like you may have had some experience with similar issues. I am familiar with physical limit switches and assumed that is what was controlling the stop positions, either in extension or retraction. In reviewing the material you made available, it appears "SET SOFT LIMITS" may be some type of electronically controlled limits. Is that the case?

Have you used a volt meter to check voltage when sliding going out? I found on my ventana, just a floor dropped down, it would quit, tried extending 15 sec later and extended fully. Found that my volts got higher as slide dropped and that tripped sensor. Scratching my head and having newmar tech scratching his head. I decided to unhook brake off the motor. Slide worked perfectly! Put a new brake problem solved. Year later still no issue.

If you can reach another controller with the plug , then you can roll out having set limit switch problem.
