Hello, Has anyone had a problem with their slide, specifically the Swintek slide and Lipitor motor? Apparently, Lipitor only gives one year warranty. We just had one replaced (expensive) and after one day the slide is going out unevenly and stopping again. I was able to bring it in luckily but nervous about getting stuck out some where while camping.
Someone told me I could purchase an off-brand motor ..... much less money, and I should carry a spare at all times.
Kind of ridiculous that these motors do not last ....for the price they charge.
Any suggestion on an off brand to purchase and where to purchase.
Thanks for any suggestions.

The Swintek slide is at best a problem for many of us. I have done a lot of research after buying my TT and having some minor issues. My slide only has the couch in it which weighs very little. When I have issues I can extend the slide fully and then retract it fully and it usually re-calibrates to work as normal.
The biggest issues I have seen are the slides that have heavy weight items such as Fridge, large cabinets, etc. in them. The Swintek is not designed for that much weight and that seems to be the problem. The manufacturers use these systems in applications they were not designed for. You can read all about these problems with a google search.

When we had our 14 Forester we had a full wall slide with the Schwintek system.

We must have been lucky as we never had an issue with it in the six years we owned it

One thing we were taught is to hold the button for a few seconds after the slide stopped either out or in to keep things in sync.

I had heard there was a company making a replacement system but don’t remember who. Maybe someone else on here can recall.

Vroom is the name of the slide upgrade. That's also the sound of 6 grand leaving your wallet!
