Last night our little town was hit by a horrible storm. Lots of flooding, trees down and even some people having to be rescued from damaged homes and trailers. We personally didn't take any damage, but the main water feature at our dog park (here on the property) was damaged when the flooding water came down the mountain.

Glad you are safe, @Jim; that's the most important thing. We have been keeping folks in your area in our prayers. Heard about it this morning and our first thought was "they don't need this on top of all the other stuff that's happened." Stay safe!

Sorry to hear of the damage down there. Glad you are ok.Before the pandemic, I was planning on looking at property in NC or SC.. It seems difficult to stay out of the path of dangerous weather.

I remember a time in Huntsville, AL - I went there to teach some military people on our product and around 2pm the tornado sirens started sounding and I was told that there was a tornado at the airport miles away. "you can come into the hallway in this building with us for a few hours or you can head to the hotel" - I headed to the hotel in downtown Huntsville 20 miles away. All along the drive the nasty front was to my left and was looking nastier by the minute. I got to the hotel, headed to my room, turned on the tv and was impressed with the weather tornado watch/warning stuff by the weather guys and one box was right over the hotel area. All of a sudden the trees in the courtyard (inside the center of the building structure) started freaking out swirling and then banging against my windows - dang if the tornado or the winds close by didn't hit the hotel. About 10 minutes after the contact and after there was no more wind, we all were alerted to come down to the conference room for safety from the tornado .....
