I went old school the other night and did my Sunday night steak night on....charcoal! Let's just say I forgot charcoal grills make fire. Fire makes steak not so good. Fortunately engine #9 arrived in time and I salvaged the steak! Back to my green mountain grill pellet smoker from now on!

if you want to try something interesting that makes a terrific steak is use a charcoal chimney and let the coals burn down to red hot. Put a small grate over it and do put the chimney some place safe and then let the grate get red hot. Wow sizzle sear and all and it was one of the best steaks we ever had. The grate is really only big enough for two small steaks.
