We spent the past 2 days at RV Glass Solutions (“The Glass Experts”) in Coburg, Oregon, having our windshield replaced. They just released the coach back to us this morning (we were able to stay in it each night, however).

I must say that we have NEVER had a better customer service experience than with these folks. They were stellar from the receptionist who first greeted us to the shop manager and the techs that worked on the coach.

If you need a windshield replaced, these are the people I strongly recommend. They have facilities in several locations around the country.

Was it an insurance claim or out-of-pocket? Unfortunately our insurance doesn't cover windshield replacement, so I was wondering about price... It's refreshing to hear of outstanding service these days...it's becoming rare. Thanks for the referral ?

Insurance claim; I paid $100 deductible. The cost of a motorhome windshield replacement varies widely, depending on the type of glass (flat, curved) and install style (flush-mount, rubber channel, etc.).

Thank you...thus far we've been blessed. But I know it's a big target and sooner or later it's going to get hit. Our Country Star is split (two pieces) so perhaps the cost will be less (?) Anyway, the cost of having fun ?

Mine is a 2 piece and cost $4k to replace both at the mothership.

I have used them several times, and they are great. Highly Recommended, they have place in AZ and FL as well. The parent company makes many of the windshields for buses and MH's, so they have excellent inventory. The Cummins shop down the road is also an excellent place to have work done.

Tj, did you happen to ask them if they are now able to fix fogged windows like our (Newmar) type? Last we asked they said they were unable to fix them.

TJ & all - Yes, they can fix fogged windows, either doing a replacement with dual pane and warranty one year, or a laminated solution, which they warranty 5 years at last check. I would call them and see what the latest process is, since we were checking two years ago. I got rid of that MH, instead of putting good money after bad since it was 10 years old.

Last we checked, maybe a year ago, no they would not fix or replace the type of windows we have on our DS. That’s why I asked just now.

They would have replaced the glass in our Alpine APEX which had fogged windows, I am not sure why, your windows are that much different, as they said it would be possible, either the OR location, the AZ location, or the FL location since we were heading to the East Coast. We did not stay with that plan, instead we traded in the Apex and bought the Newmar. I was going to have three of them done, around 1t500 dollars if memory serves. Not sure anyone could do it, if they cannot. Specifically tailored to MH and they do a whole lot of them. I used a place in Vancouver, WA for a total window replacement, but not sure they are still in business, and a friend used them and WAS NOT PLEASED with how their job turned out. So in good conscience will not recommend them here.
