Not an unusual fate for these high profile, slab sided towable. Great lifting surfaces.

Straight line winds and downbursts can indeed be very destructive!

I hope no one was seriously injured and am sorry for the RVs owner.

Ron White was talking about a guy in Key West tying himself to a tree during a hurricane to demonstrate he could survive 140 mph winds. He said, " The wind ain't the problem, the problem is that Volvo slamming into you at 140 mph".

That will not buff out!

Are you saying a Lightship would have withstood that kind of event?

Almost no vehicle stands a chance in winds like that.

Last time we were up in Dade City, a strong storm came through with straight line winds of 80-85 mph. Pulled in the slides and dropped the coach as low as it would go. Luckily the wind was coming almost straight at the front of the coach. I've been in a hurricane at our house before, and these winds were just as bad, but only lasted for about 30 min. A bit of a harrowing experience, but glad we made it through ok. Something as light as a towable with all that side area would have been gone if parked in the wrong direction. Not sure what would have happened if those winds were at our side.
