I was a techy back when MIT computers came out! Anyone remember the s100 buss?
I was reminded how errelivent I am in this day,, when arguing with the warranty department over at Bonaire about my inability to select and install a cooler and switch. 15years in industrial electrician trade, and they wouldn't warrant a frozen up bearing, blaming me as unqualified to install the cooler.
I have a different view as why they don't honor there warranty, but I digress.
The point is, as I hear about systems with oddball names like oasis, I have to do a search to even know what the conversation is about, I find myself feeling like a dinosaur!
I have no desire to complicate my life by learning these overcomplex systems! I still like to camp! Many of the things I do with my rig, are considered over simplistic, yet 10 years ago most of the community considered them cutting edge.
Will I choose to join the crowd and complicate my life? NO! I enjoy owning my things, and feel threatened when my things own me.
Will I fight Bonaire over warranty issues? Not likely, the person I did the install for has asked me to return it under Home Depot's store warranty.
Do I feel like people make life more complex than it needs to be? Yup!
Why the rant?
Let this thread be the start of simple restoration projects on trailers from a different Era!
My 83 Alpinelite is finally getting new cabnet doors.
Excuse the mess I am constructing!
