I have a 2026 GMC1500 AT4. Wife and I are interested in getting a NoBoundaries 21.0 overall length 29”9’ cabin length a little o er 26 feet. Max weight 8200

My question can I safely tow this trailer with a max payload of 1567 pounds Ana a max tow capacity 8900 pounds Fully loaded WITHOUT filled tanks. The weight sits at 7165

We’re new to camping trailers and are a little

What's the quoted hitch weight on the NoBo? Payload is probably going to be your limiting factor.

For a 1500, I would probably look for a trailer that's 1000-1500 lbs lighter, though your length on that one isn't too bad.

Multiply what's doing the towing by .80 ie., if your max towing is 8,900 lbs. you probably shouldn't be extended towing over 7,120 lbs.

You might want to check the max tow spec. That sound real low. My last F150 had a 12k mqx tow. I still upgraded to a 250.

It's probably legit. The AT4 is an off road trim with soft suspension.

For reference, what's the towing capacity of a Raptor?

We tow our aluminum frame and sidewall 6500 lb Intech OVR Navigate using a 2024 Ram Tradesman 2500 Diesel Crew, with alumimum service body added, those doors stuffed with camping grar and some service tools.

There is much to be appreciated in how that big puller reacts to having the aluminum 27 foot trailer attached. Go big puller and lighter trailer if you can, because one man's "too big" truck is another man's un-stressed capability reserve..

I wouldn't use the 1500 for the OP's setup. Just not enough truck other than going to the grocery store.

I think its easier if you forget about max tow capacity. Focus on payload.

If the max weight of the trailer is 8200 take 13% of the 8200, which is 1066. (if you look at the sticker on the side of the camper, you should see that this value includes full fresh water tank and empty waste tanks. For your truck, the cargo capacity includes a full tank of gas, so you don't need to account for that.) If your payload capacity is 1765, you have 699 pounds left (8200 X .13 = 699). Figure the weight of the hitch, you, passengers, the dog, any accessories on the truck (steps, cover...), and anything in the bed. Depending on much you load the trailer, and what you put in the truck, you will be close, but may not be over weight.

The front brakes on the 1500 are already massive and no problem. The deficiency for towing is the rear brakes and I am not aware of an easy bolt on upgrade. The upgraded brakes available there are good for the front but for the rear they are mostly trim. My 2022 is rated to tow up 7,800. Later was raised for marketing. Will the truck do the job? Yes. But really not ideal.

This is the short answer to the OP's original question. Flatlands through the countryside, A-OK, But, through the Southern mountains of Kentucky, Tennessee, No. Carolina, West Virginia, and Virginia, now it's working, and the brakes are heating up. Head out West, where the mountain elevations are double the East Coast ranges; that F250, or Ram, or Chevy sure would look good coming down the Eisenhower Pass at 11K feet.
