Is it ok to install a tow hitch on 33rls 5th wheel to tow an 8ft trailer with Honda aspencade? The hitch will be install on the 4" square tubing bumper of the 5th wheel Dutchmen classic.

In most States the answer is no.

You can legally install a hitch on the trailer, BUT make sure you check with each state to see if you can tow two trailers.

Well, I said most States would say no but according to the report that Joe just posted there are a lot more States allowing it than I thought!! I said no because it's not allowed where I live in Georgia and also not allowed in AL, FL, SC, NC where I travel for the most part. I was surprised to learn it is allowed in TN!!

Just keep in mind the laws are constantly changing so there is no list that is gospel. In Minnesota for example the law also states that you must be within the tow vehicle's GCVW, but I can say I have never been even looked at by the highway patrol. You would really have to look over loaded or some other unsafe look to be questioned from what I have seen.

Thanks for info. I actually meant if the 4" square tubing bumper would able to hold up to tow the trailer with Honda aspencade.

The answer NO!!!!

That bumper holds a sewer hose and is very thin. I did mount mine to this tube but the tube no longer will hold the hose, I reinforced it with 1/4 thick angle bolted to frame and tube at many points so it will take the load.

Simple answer is an emphatic NO!!! It will need bracing!

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Well that's a different thing altogether!!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

No. That is a VERY thin piece of 4" square metal tube. It may as well be plastic. I think PVC would be stronger. ;)
