I’m buying a new truck to pull my 35 foot 5th wheel trailer. I have a Ford F-250 short bed and thinking of a F350 long bed. Wondering the pros and cons on the long bed?

one parks better in a parking lot:unsure:. Ok then I guess it depends on the size of the bed when you say short bed. One thing that comes to mind is a slider hitch with the short bed to save the cab.

Benefits of long bed:
  • Higher tow capacity
  • No need for a special hitch (slider, sidewinder)
  • More space available in bed with hitch installed (toolbox?)
Challenges of a long bed:
  • Harder to park
  • Reduced turning radius due to longer wheelbase (450 has wide track front axle to negate this but 250 and 350 do not)
