Hello. I'm looking for propane grill recommendations. This one seems to offer everything I'm looking for in size, features, storability and appearance. It does, however, get mixed reviews, mostly concerning emptying the water drip trays after use. Is anyone familiar with this unit or one similar? Do I need to put water in the drip trays, or can I just line them with foil for easy clean up. Any other recommendations? I would prefer a self standing grill over table top. Thanks in advance.

Hey Bõnz, and welcome to the forum. Turns out, I have that exact same grill. It's a nice grill but the legs take a bit of practice to master. Also, it'll take up a bit of space to store so if space is an issue, look for something smaller.

I line the bottom of mine with foil before I use it and then toss the foil when we're ready to leave. I'm also thinking about running a dedicated line from the propane tank so that I don't have to contend with the small fuel cylinders.

Oh, and one other thing, I picked up a cast iron griddle that fits over the burners and helps distribute the heat more evenly. One side of the griddle is smooth and great to cook eggs and stuff on, while the other side has a grooved surface with is good for channeling grease away from the food.

We had this one for a few years and served us well

Then we purchased this one and love Philly Cheese sandwich and cooking eggs, bacon, and hamburger on it.

Last year we purchase the Davey Crockett and love it and one we always carry with us.
Amazon.com : Pellethead GMG Davy Crockett Starter Package : Garden & Outdoor

Then we bought this table and go to grills is the Blackstone and the Davey Crockett and put both on this table. Little overkill but works for us.

The table lays flat on my slide tray and Davey and Blackstone sit on top with my chairs behind the grills

Two burner tabletop Nexgrill works well for us.

2-Burner Portable Propane Gas Table Top Grill
I have a similar grill that I used quite a bit. Then started noticing evidence of rodents especially in the bay that the BBQ was in. Hmmmm. They like the smell of BBQ? I then started cleaning it with oven cleaner before packing it up for the travel to the next place. Man was there grease coming out of places I'm not sure how it got there. Well cleaning every time has gotten old and I don't use it anymore. I still carry it (I'm thinking if I stay for 2 weeks at a place I'll break it out) but I use an electric skillet more now - easy to clean.
Seems a lot of RVrs carry webbers - how easy are they to clean?

Probably cleans like any other grill. I put aluminum foil on the pan and the metal that covers the burners. I think what's key is that we store the grill in a very large plastic bin with locking cover that was difficult to find. So far no rodent issues yet..... that we're aware of.... I think we got the bin from Home Depot?

Thanks everyone for the input and advice. I worry about mice, but didn't consider that a dirty grill would attract them. I'll probably go the plastic bin route.

I just bought a Weber Q1000 after seeing a buddy's Q 2200 in action. The Coleman I had didn't allow the top to be closed while cooking. Not too friendly for cooking anything thicker than a burger, thin steak, or chicken breast. I chose the Q1000 because it has a slightly lower top than the other models. Fits perfectly in the 27 gallon bin I bought at Home Depot. For $20, I also ordered the folding side tables and a lid thermometer like the more expensive models. The Q1000 was on sale at our local CW plus the Good Sam discount. With the new grill and our little Blackstone, there will be endless chowing possibilities. I can feel myself getting fatter already!
