I have 07 RT 210 popular on a Chevy express. First question, having a hard time finding a replacement of the home theater system with something that is up to date with technology and small enough to fit in upper audio cabinet. I’m sure it has been done before. Second question, I’d like to install an outdoor shower box above the outside electrical drawer but below the interior bench/bed. Looked at interior schematic of a 07 Chevy van back driver side and shows a brace from wheel well to back tail light area. Does RT actually use the cargo van itself or is it a cab chassis?

I am having a new TV with HDMI connection so I can plug in iPad/iPhone to watch Netflix and I want to ensure that the TV tuner/antenna still works. I am having the original DVD player removed and I am not sure if the guy I am taking it to will also remove the small HD TV tuner. I do want him to make sure that whatever he puts in also powers the surround sound system. Give me about a week and I can tell you what he did when I pick my 07 210 Popular up from him.

Please let us know how that works out? I have tried to watch movies from my iPad to the tv with a cable and it wouldn’t play. It seems to be the cables these days is “HDCP” which won’t allow you to transfer movies from one device to another? Hope there’s a way to make that work.

Alright, so my audio guy got back to me on what he is going to install to replace the TV. He also said that the DVD player that is part of the original RT install is what is powering the speakers. He will install a Smart TV. Here is one on Amazon that is dirt cheap and has great reviews. As he says, for this dirt-cheap price, I can replace it down the road for something that might be better. He says that for the size of the TV, the 720p resolution will be fine for Netflix movies. If you prefer, you can go with another smart TV with 1080p resolution, but he says you really won't see the difference on such a small screen. Amazon.com

As for taking out the DVD player that is powering the speakers, he says a small amplifier is sufficient. Here is the one on Amazon that he will install. This is also bluetooth compatible so we can run soundtracks from our iPhones, should we desire. . Amazon.com

Again, for this price, don't expect an audiophile's ecstasy of sound. If you want to upgrade both the TV and the sound amplifier because you want outstanding audio and TV then at least now you have the basis to work with. As for us, we have the upgraded stuff at home but for when we are on the road, we have no need as we will use the TV minimally.

Lastly, if you are trying to run movies from your iPhone/iPad, you need Apple's specific adaptor, not some knock-off. The knock-offs are not compatable with the Apple ecosystem. Here is the one for a USB-C. USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter. Apple also has one for a lighting port iPhone/iPad. Best of luck with your replacement/install.
