Hello I am just wondering if I can run my fireplace and an additional outlet off of the 110 running from the house?

A long answer to a short question.

Most likely, the 110volt AC outlet you speak of is on a 15 amp circuit breaker, but let’s call it 120 volts.
If you are on a 50 feet or so extension cord, there is further losses of amperage available.

Assuming your fireplace is 1,500 watts, the formula below would look like 1500 watts / 120 = 12.5 amps drawn by the heater.

So, you have precious little amperage left to drive an additional appliance before tripping the 15 amp circuit breaker.

  • Ohm's Law
    • Watts ÷ Volts = Amps
    • Amps × Volts = Watts
    • Watts ÷ Amps = Volts

Short answer to a short question: no, you can't! At least, not reliably and safely. Sorry.
