This may be normal but it’s the first time I noticed this in 4 years.

We are at a Park. Hooked up to the city water. Today some work was being done and the water was turned off. We switched over to Dry Camp and turned on the water pump. No problem. Later we noticed, when using water the pump was not running but the water was flowing fine. We checked with the office and the water was back on. Turned the pump off and reset to city water. Everything normal.

Is that normal or shouldn’t the dry camp and motor run until I manually change to city water.

I would guess that as long as there is sufficient pressure in the lines the pressure switch on the pump will keep it from running until the pressure drops below it's set point.

My understanding (from people here at our park) is that when you are switched to Dry Camp or Pump Mode, the pump will only run if the RV is drawing water from the fresh tank and the city water pressure drops enough to trigger the pump switch.

Once the parks city water is restored you will again be using city water.
