Hello everyone, can someone please help. Where can i find the shutoff valve on my water heater for my 2003 Springdale travel trailer. My water heater is leaking and I want to bypass the water going into the water heater. Everything on here is in its original condition. After changing the water heater anode the pressure valve won’t stop draining water and water is coming from underneath the carriage. Unfortunately i can’t hire my RV tech person right now,, so I’m just trying to help myself for the time being until I can. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you

There may not be a shutoff valve. It depends. If the pressure valve is leaking you can try burping it. Turn off the water pressure to the camper and flip the valve open with the little handle on the pressure valve. You rotate it upward or downward to open it. Sometimes they get dirt in them or just need to be reseated.

Also, there is supposed to be an air pocket in the tank. With the pressure off, open the pressure relief valve and let it drain until it stops. Then flip it a few times and turn the water back on. CAUTION....if the water is hot that is what will come out!

Welcome aboard. Can you find access to the back of your water heater? If you are lucky it might be near a cupboard and visible from there. If not, you may find an access panel that will need to be removed. Once you have access to the back there might be a bypass system that you can use. You can check out You Tube for instructions on how the bypass works. You may need to replace the pressure relief valve. Instructions on how to do that too should be on You Tube.

Good luck
