What’s in your tool box

Starting out and getting ready. What are some must have tools for our Jayco?

Do a search here - there have been several good threads on this - not just tools but a lot of handy spares to carry. Right now Im trying to decide whether or not to ditch my conventional compressor and buy an ARB or Viar to save space and weight.

Another handy non-tool item is a 20’ + or - extension cord for your max input - mine is 50amp so its a big cord but really comes in handy, especially on those summer trips. Also handy is a good collection of dog-bone adapterss so you can plug in to anything. And to go with all that, a sewer hose extension and a 20-25’ fresh water hose will come in handy too.

As far as tools go, a basic compliment of hand tools is nice to have, as well as a drill/driver and charger, and a few other cordless items that use the same batteries. A few rechargeable work lights really come in handy when needed. Also a good hydraulic bottle jack that doesn't leak and will at least pick up any corner of your RV.

I could go on and on but someone will probably post a nice comprehensive list. My advice is to base what you carry on what you can anticipate going wrong and what work you are willing and able to do yourself. Being prepared for that will serve you well. Starting out with a 2022, you should encounter minimal maintenance issues, but maybe some warranty related items.

I welcome anyone and everyone to add to this list of what you carry in your RV toolbox. I may come back and edit and link up the actuals I own and where I got them. But for now and for starters I'll start listing things out as I recently reorganized my tools so it's sort of fresh in my mind...
