We only put a couple of thousand miles on a year. I believe rib tread summer tires are supposed to be quieter. I'm sure tires will age out long before wear out. My Goodyear dealer says not to put Goodyear back on but recommended Cooper tires at $900.00 mounted and balanced . I would think I would be just fine with a little less expensive of a tire.Depends on how much you use your RV. Top brands seem to be Michelin (which I use). Beware Michelins may crack if the RV sits for long periods, like over the winter, especially if there are extreme changes of temperature.
Toyos have gained in popularity, much cheaper than Michelins, I have used Coopers on a class C, which rode as we as the Michelins. I don’t know about quiet, since my greatest concern is traction and durability (long lasting). I have a friend who is a truck driver who swears by Bridgestone.
There are comparison charts online. There you can prioritize your criteria for choosing.
Thanks for the info.A few things to watch out for in tires.
First is Date Code. Beware of tires on SALE. Many times these are old inventory items. Typically a tire is recommended to be taken out of service between 5-7 years or earlier if damage is noted.
Second is LOAD Rating. Make sure that the load rating fits your needs
Third is proper sizing, Many times we have difficulty finding the correct size tire for a specific brand or from a dealer.
We happen to prefer Michelin tires. Other National brand offer different characteristics and price points.
Unless damaged, we have yet to time out tires on a RV. Doubt that we will time out the DutchStar tires either. Probably will end up selling RV before 7 years.
I took off out of age Goodyears and put 245/70/19.5 Toyo’s on the front last year with good luck. Two weeks ago put the same Toyo’s on the rear of my 34’ class A.Looking for some suggestions for the best tires to use on the front? Looking for the quietest tires out there. Size: 245/70R19.5
