On the other hand, the RV park we like to visit is about $20 a night more than a campground in a national park in the mountains. Both full hookups.Alberta Parks:
Non-refundable $12 reservation fee per reservation plus full pre-payment of camping fees
Changes to campsite reservations are $10/change; no charge for name/address changes.
YMMV but I've found that most private campgrounds in Alberta don't charge a fee and don't ask you to prepay either. These are usually the campgrounds that have no problem filling in if you don't show up.
I'd always take the scenery hands down every time but I guess some people feel that a playground and convenience store are worth the extra cost?
