Would you? I think they would probably be some of the best RV's made. I hope Elon does this someday.

Be careful with what you wish for, @Neal; all is not roses and clover with either Tesla or Elon Musk. The forward-thinking concept of Tesla is great; the execution has been less-than-perfect. I'm thinking that another capable player in this market is probably already in the wings, waiting to make an entrance. Competition would help make Tesla a better company and would provide potential buyers with better choices.

What I want is for Tesla to configure either the S or 3 model so that either could be towed. Set up correctly I think it would be able to charge itself while being towed. Besides, how cool would a Model S look behind a Newmar Coach!

Tesla will never use on their cars:
Drywall screws used everywhere
Carriage bolts with useless split washers
Household, hard single conductor wire and wire nuts.
Staples and dabs of silicone to hold the trim pieces
Unmarked fuse holders buried in wire bundles under the dash
Long lengths of unsecured wire flapping in the wind etc. etc. Here is one sample of how they let out my coach out of the factory. Toilets control box was just hanging loose on the wires.
Also the garbage was never cleaned before closing the panel. But they have "Very rigorous quality control"

TODAY, I would not purchase one as much as the prospect of it excites me. The quality of the build would undoubtedly be better (a recurring theme of posts this week) but he problem with a Tesla RV or any electric RV is infrastructure, or rather the lack thereof.

Tesla has its supercharder network but it’s still quite small. VW is in the planning stages of building out their own charger network in the US for their EVs. I think it’ll be a while before we see electric power train RVs but I’m excited about the prospect.

yeah yeah, MapNerd, the guy with a problem for every solution. I know...

Did you see their pickup truck prototype/model? Hideous. JMO.

This is supposed to be towable
