Looking at places to live in South Carolina many have the HOA that does not allow you to keep a RV on your property, which is where I keep mine now.
I looked at storage facilities in the area and its runs from 150 to 250 a month for a covered spot.
Not a big drain on the wallet, but my question to those that use a storage lot, is it a hassle to get your rig ready, etc, return it, etc?
I keep mine plugged in 24/7-365 now, and visit it just to make sure no vermin, leaks, or...... and I like that.
So, I guess my question is how much of a hassle is it?
Just wondering if I should look more for a set up like I have now, which we use our trailer at least once a month March thru October.....

Thank you!

We are like you. Rv is parked in the backyard plugged in 24/7. Once you experience this situation I don’t think you will ever want to leave it. I know I wouldn’t. Just the ease of doing minor maintenance/additions and the ease of getting her ready for a trip make home storage a game changer for me.
Nope, wouldn’t think of changing that scenario.

I went into an indoor building at a storage lot once for a few months and hated it. As soon as I could find a place I took it out. I have no issue with HOAs, just the headache of rv coordination prior to and after a trip.
I bought an industrial condo and stored it there. Now my house has an rv garage and as long as I have an rv I will always have it indoors at my home.
The HOA issue can be difficult if you do not know the rules. Some allow parking for 24 hrs for loading and unloading. Some allow 72 hours. Read the rules. They must give you the CCRs, Bylaws and ARC rules, read them before buying.

We live on 5-acres with no HOA and we park ours on our own property. As others do - we leave it plugged in 24/7 and love the convenience. My sister and brother-in-law owned an RV for many years and don't have the HOA to deal with, but the city where they live restricts RV parking. They were allowed to keep it parked at their home (trying to remember for sure) for maybe 24-hours to pack and prepare for a trip, then it had to be gone.

We are certainly thankful for the freedom to do what we want to do with our RV. It makes it handy for packing, for washing, for maintenance, for using the fridge and freezer as our "convenience store" when we run out of mustard or canned food or whatever we may have in the RV.

Ours is parked directly behind the house on a 43' concrete pad with fence all around it and plugged in with water hook up available. The only downside is that it's not covered and out in the elements 24/7. Sure makes it easy to load/unload for trips. We occasionally go out and spend a few hours at night watching TV to mitigate camping fever and give systems a work out.
