I definitely avoid those situations if at all possible. The few times I just stopped over for one night and settled for a campground like that, I found that on top of overcrowded camping areas, people had extra vehicles from visitors and parked their tow vehicles partially blocking the campground roads making maneuvering difficult. And I’ve never seen anyone jump up to courteously move a vehicle to allow normal egress.
So its not just the noise, overcrowding, smoke from numerous campfires, mixture of everyone’s loud music, and constant foot and vehicle traffic. Not my kind of “camping” experience at all. Seems to be fun for a lot of people and kids love it, but I really breath a sigh of relief when I pull in to a campground that has larger, well spaced sites, and isn’t packed to capacity.
