You obviously came in on CO-9S to I-70W... Don't know your travel plans leaving Breck but if it's I-70 East or West from there be aware the road conditions are not enjoyable...

I thought when leaving this area we could take another road that goes away from the Eisenhower tunnel and drops you back on the hwy I thought near I25.

Well, I-70 East to I-25 South is a mess between Idaho Springs and up over Floyd Hill because of construction. Yes, the pull going East from the Dillon Basin up to the Eisenhower Tunnel is a slog. I've done it far too many times this year... I don't know where you're heading, but CO-9S over Hoosier Pass to US Hwy-285 in Fairplay, then pick up C-470 from Hwy-285 and connect with I-25 South. This route will also avoid all the traffic on I-25 South through the Denver metroplex which is awful.

St. Vrain State Park Firestone, Colorado

I rolled up the road a short distance from my home dealer TransWest on Friday afternoon to St. Vrain State Park. A part that had been ordered came in while I was out on the Salt Flats so I got that sorted out. I've been busy doing a weeks worth of laundry and cleaning my coach... Also, multiple runs through the car wash to get the salt off my Jeep. Complete detail inside and out, as well as a polymer wax on the exterior of my Jeep, is scheduled for tomorrow morning. I will be spending as much time as I can with my Grandkids before heading off Friday morning.

If you're going to Amarillo here is a route I've done from the Breckenridge area. CO-9 to Hartsel, US-24 to Colorado Springs, I-25 South to Raton, NM, in Raton take NM US-87/US-287 directly into Amarillo.

This will avoid all the frustration on I-70 and traffic on I-25 in the Denver area...

First stop on our way to Ohio was Armstrong Valley Winery, our go to Harvest Host in central Pa, to drop the dog at the grandparents.

Next stop was Cleveland / Streetsboro KOA. Highlight of the campground is proximity to Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And on that note, this beauty showed up yesterday. It just happens to be Neil Young’s 1993 custom Silver Eagle tour bus. His driver must have brought it because he’s not in town until Friday.

And it's VERY hot! I had no idea! But we got to meet Mike (the owner) a really nice fellow. Hope it cools down for Hoots.

Mountain View RV Park Sundance, Wyoming

Yesterday I left the Front Range and had a very pleasant and enjoyable drive on 2 lane roads across the wide open spaces of Wyoming. Sundance has a population of a bit over 1,000 people and the Sundance Kid took Sundance as his nickname after being incarcerated, the only time ever, here for theft. I will be here for 2 weeks exploring all this area of Wyoming has to offer, Devil's Tower, etc. and I will also be checking out South Dakota... Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park, Custer State Park to name a few places. Last night I drove over the the next town, Beulah, WY, population on the sign said 84, and enjoyed one of the beast rib eyes I've ever had. You might expect that being in Wyoming!!!

The afternoon before I left a major wind gust appeared out of nowhere that almost knocked me over. It was strong enough to detach my MagnaShade windshield screen. I noticed one of my window awnings that was pulled down had also been tweaked. The support arms had shifted and shade roller had been moved out about 4 inches. The shade retracted but the enclosure wasn't flush to the side of my coach like it normally is. Being a bit concerned, not wanting it to get caught in the wind driving down the road, I swung by my home dealer just down the road first thing in the morning. I showed Jamie, my service writer the issue, and she immediately had me drive around the service bays and had 2 technicians, Rob and Mark, check it out to see if it could be fixed. They were able to slide the awning roller back into position and the support arms also went back into place. They said I was good to go. I gave them each a Jackson for their troubles. As I have mentioned on previous occasions, I am a firm believer in taking care of people, as they will take care of you when you are in a bind. Having this done took all of 15 minutes from arrival to departure so I was still on schedule...

We have visited this campground several times. They seem, sadly, to always get beat up by flooding. How is the campground doing? (DW prefers Four Roses Angels Envy)
