Hello all and happy travels.

I have a 2018 Rockwood signature ultra light travel trailer. The other day as I was backing into the drive, my wife and I noticed that it bobbled or wobbled almost as if it was on spongy springs. We just returned from a short 400 mile road trip without any issues. I thought it could be the suspension but don’t see any obvious signs of issues. The camper is a tandem axle torflex suspension.

My only two thoughts are either the suspension or wheel bearings gave way.

Any thoughts what might cause the wobble?

sounds like it could be a torflex arm issue

Also could be a brake issue with a pad catching on the drum when backing if indeed you have drum brakes

I was thinking the same thing. A Quick Look underneath doesn’t show anything obvious. I’ll take off the wheels to do a closer check. Any thoughts on what I am looking for?

Time to get the jack out! This also presents itself before a blowout.

I just finished taking a few measurements from a site to help identify if the torsion arms are weakening and they seem to be within the specs of dropping only an inch or less. The wheel diameter and axel height test showed no sag. While I had the trailer jacked I tried to rock the tires side to side and there was no movement. Maybe we were seeing things but we both feel like we saw more wobble than usual.

Woody Harrelson, while on the set of True Detective, was asked by Matthew McConaughey what he does when he has a nagging problem. Woody studied on it for a minute and said "I just don't think about it".

When you saw this while backing up, were you going straight or in a turn?
If on a turn, repeat the exercise to see if it does the same while also going straight. If it only happens while on a turn the hopping could be the tires scrubbing as the tires on the tandem axles fight each other.
If this happens while going straight, I agree with others to check the other items mentioned.
