Thread 'Need help w batteries'
Hello. My husband and I are brand new to the RV life. We recently purchased a 1995 Sea Breeze M-129. We want to buy new batteries for it but are confused. Here is a photo of what the previous owner had.
Thread 'Made the last run...... done.'
We had a very busy summer, March to October, trips every month. Our last gig was to one of our "go to" every year, Grayland State Park on the Washington coast. If you like eating fresh fish, you can buy it right off the fishing boats as they return, or go catch them yourselves, or have it cooked at many places. In the fall they harvest cranberries too, we load up on those as well. Already have about 4 trips booked for next year. I think I will take the trailer to be serviced in spring...
My 5th wheel has an outside grill that uses a quick disconnect port. It was working perfectly, next day it won't get hot enough. Something is restricting the flow. Stove and oven inside work fine. The hose is not stopped up. The grill is clean no obstructions. Any ideas? Thanks
So I have a Dometic water tank heater and it has a plastic drain plug. Would it be best to replace this with an anode plug? Thank you
Thread 'Pop-up camper power converter'
Hi, I got a 2005 Palomino Pony pop-up camper that we got from my father-in-law a few years ago, and he got from who knows a few years before that. Nice little camper, but we were having some electrical issues, which we didn't notice until about two weeks before we were going camping this summer, so I didn't want to rip too much apart on it then. When plugged in with the 30amp 110v plug, the outlets worked, but not the lights. I'm still not 100% certain how it is wired up, but they worked the...
I know I should know this….but if I am parked with shore power, the solar will keep the lithium’s at 90-100% at all times. Is there a way to limit it to 80% SOC? Can you set it to a certain voltage level (i.e. 13.2v or so) to achieve this? I have a Victron SmartShunt, but I am not sure it will talk to the SmartSolar (at least for SOC). For now, I am managing this manually, by shutting off the solar charging until the batteries get low enough to charge….but then I have to catch it...
I am having a problem wiring my 7 way plug on my travel trailer. I have bought a Hopkins 7 way plug and the diagram shows that the back side of the male plug has a hump on the top of the plug. Other companies who show the wiring diagram also shows this hump. Is this hump the locking hump on the bottom of the tow vehicle's female connector? So the wiring diagram needs to be turned 180 degrees to work right? Please explain the 7 posts color with their color and code. What I am asking, do I...
Thread 'Newmar installed a new Shurflow Water pump, pressure pulsed'
On the way home from Newmar Service Center the New water pump pulsed on and off while using the Bathroom sink and kitchen sink. High loads like the toilet the pump did not pulse. Did a little search and reading and found that the 4800 Series pumps have a pressure adjustment on the pump. Read the instructions, see attached, and fixed it myself. Luckily the pump is in a position that is easily accessible...
Thread 'Pet toys!'
Trish gave me a thorough chewing this morning, a fair and balanced performance, most of which centered around my apparent inability to pick up after myself. The exhibit in question? One lonely pair of shoes I stepped out of last night when I sat down on the couch. (Now stored in the closet so no picture available.) Now, you wouldn’t think a single pair of shoes could land a man in such dire straits, but apparently, I was one step away from testing the comfort of outdoor sleeping...
Thread 'From Aberdeen, Ohio to Pikeville Kentucky'
Drove highway 23 "The Country Music Highway" from Aberdeen to Pikeville! Spectacular scenery! Country Music Highway - Explore Kentucky's Musical Heritage Staying at Pikeville RV Park for two nights. Pretty nice place. Concrete pad, full hook ups, nice and clean, gated entrance and nice views!
When on the road with engine running, does the solar system typically still charge the battery? Does Solar help with load when you are plugged into Shore Power, etc?
Being rather new to having an RV, I have a question. All the stickers that come on RVs, how do you get them off? Are certain stickers important to keep on? My husband thinks they should all stay, for when you may sell. Thank you for any help!
Thread 'New to us 2005 Allegro Bus'
Needs a little TLC, But in excellent condition.
Noticed a 2' DIA pool of water at the base of our toilet right under the round pivot thing of the foot pedal. Got down and looked at it and could see water dripping between the fixed exterior round part and the pivot part that moves when pedal is depressed. Ordered and changed the toilet valve. No noticeable leaks around the inlet hose nor outlet hose. Still leaking and can't figure out where the leak is originating from. Any insight, suggestions, ideas?
Route and..? recommendations. 25’ Class C, w/Jeep TJ toad Traveling from south Texas up to Elkmont campground in NC. 2 night stay? Then over to Cherokee for couple nights. Then up to Asheville, stay or not? Not quite sure what to expect there. Would like to see the city, help support local economy. Then up to Boone NC. to catch Grandfather Mt, & maybe Linville Falls. Then heading up to Floyd, Va. and perhaps on to Gettysburg. At each stop we’re planning to unhook and do day trips to the...
Thread 'New Hampshire Fall Foliage'
Fall has come a little early to this area of NH. The locals say it is at peak color, and with the drought they've had, most of the leaves will drop in 7-10 days. These photos were taken 3 days ago on the Kancamagus Hwy.
