Ok Joe, I bit!!!
I must admit traveling in the RV was on those things to do before I die! AND, my exit strategy before I decided I was going to live forever, was to die in my RV!

BUT this idea is way to close to my original exit strategy!!!

The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville has Rv parking. This clinic is approx 3-4 hour ride from home base. If we need excellent medical advice or service this is my preferred option. Thinking about using the RV rather than a hotel for overnight stays.

Great idea...except I haven't seen many hospital parking lots with RV parking. Perhaps close by...

I read that. And was blown away. Not by the article, just this little line at the end. "hospital has offered the free amenity..." Seriously? Every time I get any kind of hospital bill I expect to see them billing me for each elevator ride and how much of their air I breathed. Free camping spaces! Amazing.

On the Jacksonville Campus of Mayo, Parking Lot A, there are many spots for RVs. Here is a picture with several RVs parked in Lot A

Maumelle COE Campground in Little Rock has one section with full hook-ups that is strictly for people who are receiving treatment for ongoing medical conditions at local Hospitals. All the hospitals are located very close to the campground, just a couple of interstate exits away. You have to fill out an application for the spaces and requires a doctor's letter from the local hospital(s) you will be attending.

Many hospitals will allow a family member to park in their lot. Not that many have hookups for it, so one would have to dry camp. I think the Veteran's hospitals in Asheville NC and Richmond VA have RV hookups. My Dad was at both and said some of his roommates had family staying in the parking lots or in nearby RV parks in RVs. The Asheville one had an arrangement with a few local RV parks (special pricing, longer stays). My Dad only had a 1 hour drive, some people drove much farther for their nearest Veteran's hospital.

I'm kinda, sorta, vaguely acquainted with someone who's wife had cancer. They parked their RV in a few hospital parking lots during her hospital visits and checkups. You might have heard about him as he's written a couple of books and has a newsletter. Nick Russell

Full hook ups would be neat.
