Is the carpet in a motor home typically tacked or glued down? I have 57 reasons for getting rid of our light colored carpet. I removed the unsightly carpet from the engine cover in our Class A and replaced it with soft vinyl to match the dash. The carpet was glued and was very hard to remove from the fiberglass doghouse. Should I expect the same through the motor home?

Welcome to RVForums @Sunshyne. I don't know the answer to your question, others may, but I wanted to welcome you aboard.

Welcome, @Sunshyne, glad to have you here. As to your question, I suspect different RV manufacturers may each do it differently. Since it appears that you have a Winnebago product, I suggest that you call their customer service folks and ask if they can provide that information. Worth a ry.

Welcome to the forum @Sunshyne. I am not sure on your coach as I think @TJ&LadyDi is correct that each manufacturer may do it differently. I can says that on a previous motorhome we had carpet was installed using tack stripes, this was a 92 Pace Arrow.

Expect the worst and hope for the best.

Nothing a credit card can't fix :)

I have done a couple of motor homes and yes, it will be tacked down mostly. There will be some areas that are glued too but I used a pair of channel locks to grab onto the carpet and pull it off.

Expect to be pulling out thousands of staples out. I used the same channel locks to pull most of them out. Some of them will just need to be beat down flush with the floor. Just take your time and keep thinking of how good it's going to look when your finished. And take pictures so we can watch the fun from a distance. :)

(Note: Be careful of taking advice from Neal or you'll be driving around in a new 40' Ventana.)

Good luck, and welcome to the forum!

Howdy, you are not alone wishing to remove carpeting. After a quick internet search, many folks have removed the flooring from a Winnebago. Most report, as you guessed, It Ain't Easy. But certainly doable. Good luck. Sounds like a fun project.
