My wife keeps telling me we need a good torch, I keep using my phone.
Yup we all need a torch :)

On the boat everything had it's place! The flashlight also had it's place so I could always find it! One in every drawer.

if there wasn't enough light, I waited for sunlight.

Need a flashlight or two for house, RV, etc. Handheld, rechargable, something bright of course. Looking at the one below but not in a rush so looking for recommendations. Any suggestions?

I'm a fan, and have a good inventory, of the names that are getting the best mention here - Olight, Surefire, Fenix and Steamlight. If I had to have only one brand, it would be Olight because of reliability and durability. I don't like rechargeable lights because they fail and become throwaways, but rechargeable batteries have served me well.
My all-time favorite light, the one I carry in my pocket and use every day, isn't very bright, but has led me home in the dark too many times is the Olight i3E. Amazon.com

Thanks for the reminder, I need to get this figured out. So I reviewed the websites from the above posts and brands mentioned. Good stuff. Looking for something over 3000 lumens, rechargeable preferred, even more preferably I like plugging in a cable but I have the chargers too where you put the batteries in the cradle thingy. So here are some I have my eyes on: (btw, I love the marketing game of different uses of candela, lux, and lumens)

Streamlight HL 6

Fenix PD36 TAC

Really leaning towards staying with the Fenix, really appeals to me. As I need two, I may try both of the above. Pretty complex array of options, I want bright, rechargeable, handheld for dog walking, variable brightness preferred. Need to upgrade lights around the house, etc.

Now that's an idea!! Hmmmm

Took a look at Fenix headlamp options as well:

Fenix HP35R

Fenix HM70R

Going to have to do more research and learning on this idea, would be good for the airplane camping side of the house, if I ever get up the nerve to sleep in a tent again!

I'll bet you could have an RVF logo printed on these and send them to all your subscribers! It would make Mr Bezos a very happy man.

Reading my mind again :) (shuuuuuurrrrrrr :))

Not a fan of headlamps! Maybe my objection is the inconsiderate people that use them.

I haven't run into one soul that turns them off while talking to the victim!!!

Have a Streamlight next to the bed. It is very bright but adjustable. It gets very hot on high, more manageable at lower output settings.

For dog walking and working on stuff I would use a head lamp.I love these for walking at night, dumping tanks at night (yes in my neighborhood we don’t have buttons inside for that🤣), etc.

That's because people use them wrong. Put them on the dog!

I carry this one on my belt. Almost as handy as a pocket on a shirt.

Really liking the Fenix brand of lights. One of these is on the way. Fenix LR40R v2
