Not a fan of headlamps! Maybe my objection is the inconsiderate people that use them.

I haven't run into one soul that turns them off while talking to the victim!!!

Have a Streamlight next to the bed. It is very bright but adjustable. It gets very hot on high, more manageable at lower output settings.

For dog walking and working on stuff I would use a head lamp.I love these for walking at night, dumping tanks at night (yes in my neighborhood we don’t have buttons inside for that), etc.
