Tip Venting cabinet for Routers

We have a Pepwave and Starlink router in cabinets. Asked Tech about how to vent them for heat dissipation. Typically we left the doors open but wanted to keep the doors closed.
Here is what we decided on to shed heat.

Mine has a mesh back and I installed two USB powered fans.

My 2nd pepwave is in the half bath electrical cabinet tapped into 12v power there. It gets hot but it’s designed to get hot like stereo equipment does. No issues. It’s enclosed with no fans or vents.

I have my Peplink MAX BR1 Mini installed in the cabinet above the entrance door. It too would get hot, but the heat didn't cause any issues. What did cause an issue was running directly off of the coach's 12V system. I kept loosing link on both my WAN and LAN ports. Problem was resolved by installing a DC-DC converter, thus providing a stable 12V input.

Consider the Peplink Antenna MAX S. Everything in one enclosure outside with a single POE connector coming into the coach.

Mine is on the tow vehicle but it could be on top of a Class A out of sight.

Odd. Both of my pepwaves are tied in to the coach's 12V system using the Peplink 12V adapter. Never had an issue.

I thought so too. Both ports that I was using would loose link and I had to reboot to get them to come back. I posted on the Peplink support portal and the source of the DC power was the first question that was asked. I had a DC-DC adapter in my stash and sure enough no problems since installing it.

I wonder if that could be a symptom of a deeper issue though with the 12V system supply you were attached to? You may have bandaided it with an alternate source but it could indicate an issue.
