Campground USA RV Resort Apache Junction, AZ


This morning I rolled out of my Winter home in Casa Grande, AZ and drove up to Apache Junction, AZ where I will spend the week at Campground USA RV Resort. I am meeting up with the local NKK Arizona Sun Catchers for their rally. I believe there will be 25 Newmar coaches attending the rally.

When I leave here I will be taking a leisurely drive up to the Front Range of Colorado arriving on April 20. I will be seeing family, friends, and doing my annual services before I head off on my Summer journeys meandering around the Rocky Mountains.

Wife informed me that one way or another we have been attending the Charlotte Autofair for 28 years now. Only three times with the Newmar I think and here we are with it for the fourth time.

Holbrook, AZ/Petrified Forest KOA Journey


After having a fun week in Apache Junction, AZ with the NKK Arizona Sun Catchers, I had an enjoyable drive in the Arizona high country to Holbrook, AZ. I will be heading to Albuquerque, NM in the morning as I make my way up to the Front Range of Colorado.

Having spent the morning exploring the Petrified Forest I drove over to Winslow, AZ and stood on the corner...

Route 66 RV Resort Albuquerque, New Mexico


Left Holbrook, AZ Friday and had a blustery drive over to Albuquerque, NM for a couple of days before heading up to Colorado tomorrow. Price of diesel fuel is considerably less in New Mexico than Arizona where it was around $6.50 a gallon... Topped off at a Maverick in Grant, NM for $4.89 a gallon...

I was able to get my Jeep planted on an abandoned section of the Mother Road in celebration of the 100th Year Anniversary.

Well we left our winter home in Ft Myers Beach with a 5 day stop at Fort Wilderness where both our boys and families met us. Great time with family.

Now heading to Mothership for some work. Stop at Broken Banjo RV Park in Manchester, TN.

Chatfield State Park Littleton, Colorado


I left Albuquerque on Sunday, did a touch and go at the Loves RV Stop in Walsenburg, CO, and rolled into Chatfield State Park yesterday. I will be here for 2 weeks spending time with family, friends, and doing all my 6 month medical checkups.

This week I am with 12 other Newmars and 25 fellow peeps from the NKK Oregon Explorers chapter in Bend, Oregon as we attend Newmar Academy at Beaver Coach. Lots of hands on instruction and learning going on thanks to the Newmar instructors who came out with all their instructional tools.

Well we stopped by Newmar Service on our way to Montana for a few minor issues 4/21-4/23. Left Saturday and went to Davenport, stayed at Harvest Host, Rhythm City Casino. Found out I need new house batteries and had to run generator .

We avoided all the storms across the Midwest a stayed west of Lincoln NE at Double Nickel Campground, picture attached.

At the NKK Oregon Explorers' Rally in Bend, Oregon this week. With 24 Newmar coaches and 47 attendees we are enjoying the relatively new Bend RV Resort. Somebody has sunk some serious investment $ into this resort. Many of us with fuzzy co-travelers opted for the Paw sites (with fenced in private dog patios) while others went for the gas fire pit sites. The location has concrete level pads, grass (mowed by a robot mower no less!), pool, hot tub, pickleball courts, a dog park, and a generous community room. Oh, and the WiFi is shiney, new, lots of strong anteneas throughout the park, and it works!
