Based on a first hand conversation with a Freightliner executive. I am not talking smaller coaches, I am talking DPs. How are you com[paring truck and trailers tires when I clearly stated motorhome tire research?
FYI My neighbor just had Toyos put on about two months ago and absolutely hates them. Hates the ride, too hard
There are some Diesel pushers with tires as small 235/80-22.5. Michelin does seem to offer tires that are motor coach or even RV specific. My experience with Michelin and Goodyear has not been that great. It is very unsettling to consider that at any time a failure can occur and that there is no way to prevent that from happening even with new tires. It just sucks.

Underboss, I have a 4018 Dutch Star. My son has a 40' Tiffin bunk model. He is able to run 295/75R33.5 tires. His coach and many others run the narrower wheel than what my Dutch Star and up run. The Newmars and I assume Foretravel, Entegra, and Prevost conversions are heavier on the front end than most. There is a formula in the CFR that allows you to weigh more than 12500# on the steer axle. Hence the nine inch wheels and bigger tires on my coach. My coach weighs just shy of 16000# on the steer. I guess you could put the smaller tire on a coach and get an overweight permit every time you move the coach.
Interesting. I am doing factory p/u Monday on a DS 4369 so it has the 365 steer tire.
I was surprised when my neighbor complained about the Toyo's, not sure his exact model but we were at dinner and he popped over and told me he just got them and hates the ride, way too harsh. Said he wished he never tried to save the few bucks and already plans to get new in two years. Watch for some 2 y.o. toyos on the market then lol

The DS 4369 is a really nice coach. Great for family and entertaining. The long wheelbase and lighter engine in the back make it a tad front heavy, so it needs that 20K axle, the Michelin only tires. I think the drive is also a 20K axle giving it a really high carrying capacity but will also need those tires. Those are also on 10.5 wide wheels. A really nice set up!
