Casey has single handedly destroyed the newmar reputation. So dang frustrating

Again, one coach had an issue because they tried to skirt the law. This is a Spartan issue, folks pay 20k extra for no reason and then do not get a $2.00 metal tag.
Thousands cross the border yearly with zero issues because they comply.
Thousands cross the border yearly because either their vehicle's VIN complied or, for thise that don't, the government workers (on both sides of the border) involved haven't leaned in on inforcing the law. It either has a propper VIN mounted (from the manufacturer) or it doesn't. What folks have gotten away with because those in a position to enforce the law were either not aware or chose to not enforce it is just good luck.

But they tried to cross the border as an exporter without the proper paper work. When turned away, they went to another border crossing but they were already in the system.
What does anyone thing is going to happen when you knowingly tried to break the law. Thats why they got the treatment.
Spartan should have sprung for the $2 and put metal tags on their chassis.

Regardless of why they got the treatment, the VIN compliance requirements by law have not been complied with. Saying, "but look over here" doesn't address the propper VINs (or lack thereof) being missing and not applied correctly by the manufacturer. Had they been, there wouldn't have been the citation for the VIN violation in this case. I hear what Newmar and Spartan keep saying, but I think the actual verbiage of the law and them now beginning to comply on 2027 production coaches speaks volumes in terms of CYA and hopefully avoiding their own gov citations going forward. Not doing so after having brought their non-compliance to their attention would have been nothing short of willful neglect. I also beleive trying to sell exisiting owners of non-compliant vehicles a VIN plate to mount ourselves (also against the law) doesn't address the years they were out of complaince or protects existing owners.

Casey is lucky. If this was military, he would have been relieved of command immediately. Someone would have replaced him to take immediate corrective action and take responsibility and own the situation, not deflect it so irresponsibly and carelessly. It would have been handled and corrected long ago now. If Spartan failed to comply and correct the matter, they would have been terminated as a supplier. Yeah, I live in a different world.

Winnebago, I'm available for cleanup on aisle 9!

My thoughts exactly.

The stupid in this story is biblical.

I find this rather sadly ironic, coming from the Public Sector where we’d often say “that guy(gal) would never make it in a real business where they just fire him(her).”

Guess we weren’t entirely correct.
