Does anyone know who makes the mirrors newmar is using?

The driver side mirror has a very short arm. Like to try a longer arm, so I can swing the mirror to the front of the coach vs by the driver side window. As it is, I have to lift my head and look up to check the side view. This is not very functional

thx

I had to replace both a mirror and a mirror arm when the rig next to me in storage didn't pay attention to their tail swing. I went into vapor lock when I saw the Newmar prices for replacement. Ramco's prices were much better, they were easy to interact with, the replacement mirror and swing arm was shipped in excellent packaging with more than adequate protection, it was an easy install once I was able to break the existing corrosion around the tightening bolt and mount free.

Advice:
  • Start soaking the swing arm mounting bolts in lots of penetrating spray sooner rather than later...
  • Once you remount, use small pieces of pinstriping across the mounts and swing arm joints such that if you ever have to move the mirror out of the way you'll know exactly what position to return it to later.
Best,
-Mark

Thank you for the heads up. yes they are frozen, tried adjusting them and no movements. working on that.

did you have any issues with the wiring?

I had to replace a mirror on another unit (newmar) more than a decade ago and had difficulty getting the wire/plug re connected. The wires went across the front (firewall) of the coach. when they were spraying the foam for insulation on the front wall, the wire was pulled tight! Ended up going back to the factory for them to remove the foam to get wire for the mirror freed up, so it can be reconnected inside the mirror.
