Good morning! Anyone know what firearms form we need to transit through Canada to Alaska? Bringing a Winchester .270 Thanks!

Here is a link to the form for permitted firearms. You need to verify what you are bringing is allowed.

I had a friend who told me he knew someone that had a handgun and was at the Canadian border when they searched the toad and found bullets which led to a search of the motorhome and they found the gun. He spent two days in Canadian jail at the border let out and told to get out of the country and do not return. I’d be very cautious about taking a gun into Canada.

Meh, handguns they're pretty uptight about but I've taken an M1 Garand on hunting trips in Canada before and they didn't care. They in my experience actually much more consistent with their gun laws than the US. I doubt he'd get much grief over a bolt-action rifle, especially if he's checking it in with border patrol in Canada.

Whoa! Don’t want any of that to happen!

Especially with recent times up there. Laws have changed in the last years, and attitudes with it. Get your paperwork in order before even approaching that border.

Don't ask, don't tell.
When caught, go to jail! Americans crossing into Canada will absolutely be asked about firearms. Failure to declare will result in being fitted for silver brackets, irrevocable confiscation of firearm(s) and the risk of vehicle(s) being impounded. There's no 2nd chance and 2nd amendment means nothing.
