Bike rack recommendation for long-hauling four bikes

Thank you for the excellent response, David. A lot has happened since my original post and I ended up going with a 1up USA super duty rack. https://www.1up-usa.com/product/2in-super-duty-double-bike-rack/ It's more expensive than most other racks but it's really high quality and SO easy to use...

Question Put a bike rack on the back of transend trailer. Is it ok

You might want to make sure your bicycle carrier is recommended to be mounted on a towed trailer/vehicle. Many manufacturers will void any warranty if it is not rated. Can Hitch Mounted Bike Racks be Used on the Back of a Flat Towed Vehicle | etrailer.com. Darrell

Not applicable. All racks I've looked at have built in hitch immobilizers.

    RVing with E-Bikes

We enjoy the Rad Runner e-bike(s). Bike racks designed to carry heavier e-bikes were really pricey so I opted for a motorcycle carrier. And actually got the Harbor Freight version. With a little fabrication (alteration) this carrier handles the e-bikes just fine. So for less than $150 I have...

    Rear tray

...low. I’m planning on just some folding chairs, table, table top grill and some yard lights etc. I’ve seen several post about RV special bike racks but didn’t see anything about trays. Amazon has several listed with bags. What should I be looking for in a tray. What have you used and been...

Alert WARNING: Using a bike cover while on a bike rack while driving can KILL someone

...our Yakima bike rack has been, a shell with a bike rack in the bed just made the most sense to me. So I started looking into truck bed bike racks this evening (I’ll probably go with the Advantage SportRack 4) but I happened across the Thule Insta-Gator and it made me think of @Neal. If I...

Freedom Express 192RBS Bumper Weight Limit

...hold two 65 lb electric bikes then you need to go to a hitch installer and have a hitch welded in place that will take this load. Most e-bike racks are not designed for use on a 5th wheel trailer or most motorhomes so read the rack manufacturers load specifications. The stronger ones do...

I don't want to sell you my RV🤣

When I sold my class C 2006 winnebago outlook 31', I was amazed that the young couple that bought it did not haggle at all. Paid full asking price (last April). My RV was in good shape with no water damage and everything worked. Still it was old with 70k mi. I have spoken to them since, they...

    Bike rack options?

We've been happy with this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09T9BCPNS/?tag=rvf01-20 120# capacity, sturdy and easy on/off. If we're hauling our toad and bikes.. the bike rack goes on the Jeep. Going by carrying capacity, many racks are light weight. Put them on the rear of a coach where...

I carry them on my toad or in my trailer depending on what else goes. On the toad I have a bile cover that completely encases the bikes

To save others the hunt, that one is 88 lbs. My Trek Powerfly 4 is in the 40-45 lb range, it is painful to put on/off the rack. While I really enjoy the e-bike I really also enjoy my Trek Marlin 7 non e-bike. It's lightweight and a joy to ride. I have a little regret in getting the e-bike unless...

Items removed from my 2017 Zion

I removed the Lithium Battery pack (200 AH) because I have nights where the temp is below Zero. I would like to get it out of my garage before winter. I also took off the bike rack. Removed the 2 ft square table and both floor mounts (free). I put new rims and tires on it and have 4...

Bike rack recommendation for long-hauling four bikes

Either the Thule XT series or the Kuat as these are the top two rocks in the business, I believe. Yakima just doesn't do as good a job as they used to for bike racks. The Thule is going to be pricey. We use a Thule XT-Pro for our bikes. The Ghule will also accept fat tire bikes.

    Bike Rack Search Finding

Just get a hitch tightener and you wont have to worry about the rack moving around. You are also much less likely to get rack rash on your bikes because they wont be moving around as much. I used parts and pieces from a couple less expensive racks to build a custom rack that fit my two...

    E-Bike carrier for Flagstaff TT

We narrowly escaped a disaster when I discovered the Keystone Hideout bumper just barely holds the spare tire, let alone bikes and a rack. I bet there are many trailer models that skimp on the proper construction of their bumper. I saw our bikes tilting a bit and found the welds were breaking...

Strengthen and replace hitch receiver on rear of trailer

I wonder why the manufacturer does not place a notice on the hitch that says "300lb capacity of stationary load". Seems like they would take into account that people are going to load items on the hitch and not stay just parked.

    RVing with E-Bikes

E-bikes are going to be heavier than than a normal bicycle due to the additional weight of the battery , motors and beefing up of the frame and other components to support that. The best way to carry them as a result, is going to be a either a heavy duty hitch mounted platform rack, or if you...

    E-Bike carrier for Flagstaff TT

We use a carrier made for fat tire bikes on the front of a 150. A 250 would be great but it's well paid for, anyway my best advice, don't go cheap. I would like to put ours in the camper, but still scratching my head how to fit them in.Never had a issue on front. I would have a camera if...
