    AMSolar?

...a more robust combiner with circuit protection? I’m thinking about switching the combiner in the roof and hopefully find cables that can handle the sun. Although, it’s about 10 years old…guess I can’t expect miracles. Just funny that the coax going to my DISH looks better than my Solar wires.

    Fridge on or off

I assume you mean LiFePo4 batteries. 5 solar panels of what size? And what battery capacity? To answer your question that information is critical. As an example, I have 6 solar panels, 2 batteries. My fridge runs 24/7 My freezer runs 12/7. There's no stress to the system, and the proof of that...

    Solar generator as power

I was wondering the other day… if I were to use a solar generator as the power source for the rv, would it work. I have (2) 81 Ah batteries now which, if I’m right, factoring in not going below 50%, give me 972 watts of power. The solar gen I’m looking at is 1000w ( 50.4v @ 20 Ah ). It looks...

No Power to Coach or Chassis

Sounds like the cold and no hook-ups got you. I don't know anything about solar and lithium, but if your rig is stored outside in a secure area, you may want to try one of the portable suitcase solar panels that you hook up directly to your batteries with Gator clips. Do you have 6V for the...

My 2022 came Prewired for Solar via go power…. How to upgrade?

My fifth wheel came pre-wire for solar, there are connections on the roof near the front…. I can’t seem to find where the cables for them are in the compartment with the batteries in the front storage. Also…. Is there a solar charge controller somewhere? I’m adding a new lithium battery bank...

    Question Passport 290BHS solar question

My wife and I are looking seriously at purchasing a 2023 Keystone 290BHS from Camping World. The coach has the factory installed solar flex 400 system. The question is what will this power? Is there a setting or switch I can use to keep the house batteries charged while in storage, will it...

    Solar Install 2020 Kountry Star

Just found this forum and already getting lots of great ideas. I am installing solar in our Kountry Star 3426. I'm trying to find the most efficient path to get the wires from the roof to the charge controller in the basement (somewhere near the batteries). Thanks in advance!

    12 volt refrigerator

I have 2 200-amp Hour lithium batteries charged by 380 watts of solar flat on the roof. A 12 volt compressor fridge. I like to know how things work before I am going to use them, so I do not have problems when I am actually using them. I ran my fridge 2 lights and a TV all left turned on 24...

    12 Volt Airconditioner Reviews

Thought? You're not going to run very long on your solar. Charging batteries for that kind of load is difficult. 115vac A/C only requires a generator when A/C is needed. Considering losses charging, and discharging. I have a hard time trusting anyone that talks about 12 volt appliances being...

    adding solar to roadtrek

    Inverter vs solar generator

...and are greenhorns at it. Camper will stay year round on our vacation property and used as an off grid setup. I am leaning towards a Titan Solar generator vs a dual fuel invertor generator for a lot of reasons…gas, noise, having to fill it in the middle of the night, etc… Being that our...
