I have been researching this as I have read that having metal valve stems is better for the sensors used by a tpms. How do metal valve stems work if the toad has a tpms on the vehicle?
I don't mount my TPMS on the dash, it's low and right of the steering wheel. Initially I did and when I got the new TST color display they didn't have a good mount so I 3D printed one that velcro's to the dash near the key. Point is you don't need to be looking at your TPMS. It will alarm based...
My TPMS saga had a twist. July 7th when I parked at the Spartan repair facility, a “distracted” driver rear ended the RV at 40 mph. The team at Colton Truck and RV garage were awesome. The chassis damage was extensive. They finished the chassis repair two weeks ago. That was 1/3 the time the...
If you are insulating that watching your tire pressures, having a TPMS and taking care of your tires you can avoid any issues with tire blow outs, I respectively disagree. I baby my tires in so many ways but still almost had a disaster when a bubble formed on the inside of my tire. I found...
...myself a "Pro" instead of a "Rookie". Report on the DS at this time only minor issues, WIFI ranger failed, Newmar shipped me a new one, TPMS keeps losing com with the rears during travel, shower wasn't sealed correctly, we have a new wall (minor water damage) waiting for us at the dealer...
Regarding media inserted in the wheel to balance and TPMS sensors mounted in wheel on valve.
You might want to check with the tire installer if the balancing media is compatible with valve mounted wheel sensors. It might beat them up depending on the materials involved.
My VW used differential...
Part of my decision was based on my overall needs for tpms.
I have 1 Motorohome. 2 toads, and 4 trailers.
The trailers are towed by either of 3 vehicles, one of them being a 2021 Dodge Ram with factory tpms and ability to monitor trailer tires.
That means I have 2 towing vehicles that can...
I recently converted my jeep wrangler to metal valve stems compatible with the jeeps tpms sensor. This allowed me to connect the tpms without worry of damaging the rubber stem.
Hello! I have a new trailer and I bought a TPMS for our upcoming long trips. I got confused when i was installing my system on what my psi warning should be? The sidewalls says 65psi cold max. Is that what i should have my tires inflated to or should i not exceed 65psi? What should i put as...
I would do both. Install an auxiliary TPMS for peace of mind, and file a NHTSA complaint for satisfaction. Just like the DEF debacle. I learned the system and equipped myself accordingly to keep from being stranded (never again!) and avoid a tow, but filed the complaint because the situation is...
